Meet Our Lead Pastor

Rev. C. Renee Edwards

C. Renee Edwards became our Lead Pastor effective July 1, 2024. She served as our Associate from January 2023 to June 2024 . Renee was licensed as a Local Pastor in 2005 by the NC Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church and began her pastoral ministry in the Heritage District (formerly the Rocky Mount District) as a Supply Pastor in 2004. She completed the Basic Course Of Study for Ordained Ministry at Duke Divinity School in 2010. From 2007 to 2023 Renee served in the Beacon District and founded Elizabeth City Beer, Hymns and Other Songs in 2022. She credits the volunteer musicians and the community for its success. Renee is passionate about engaging new people in new spaces, so you’ll find her conversing with whoever, whenever and wherever. Some will tell you, “Renee has never met a stranger,” which is true to form. In her leisure, Renee spends time on the water fishing and kayaking. In addition, she enjoys fluid art painting, perfecting her skills as a vintner, fashioning guitars out of old cigar boxes and scrap lumber and hanging out with her miniature Australian Shepherd, Emma, and her Lionhead Rabbit, Winston.
